Materials Testing Labs and Materials research.

The Materials Testing Laboratory offers its customers a wide range of multidisciplinary services in the field of materials science. Among them we emphasize the characterization, quality control, engineering, materials research and failure analysis of mechanical components in service, areas where the companies are firmly in favor of the reliability and security of equipment and facilities industrial as well as the quality of products.

Several areas of the Laboratory for Materials Testing must be accredited by ENAC, which allows it to issue test certificates recognized by European entities counterparts. The Materials Testing Laboratory must to provide manufacturers, engineering companies, assembly plants and industrial facilities and among others the following services:

1.- Chemical Tests: Determination of the chemical composition of metals and alloys, including:
- Ferrous materials.
- Aluminum Alloys.
- Copper-base alloys.

2.- Mechanical Tests:
-Qualification of welders and welding procedures approval.
-Determination of the mechanical properties of metals, alloys and composites.
-Resistance testing of the durability.
-Hardness testing.
-Certification and upgrading of materials.

3.- Consumer Product Testing: Analysis, monitoring and functional tests of the products to determine their compliance with technical specifications and / or regulation.

4.- Metallographic Tests:
-Microstructural characterization of metals and alloys.
-Determination of grain size and constituent phase percentages.
- Micro-and Macroscopic examination of alloys and solders.
-Verification and control of thermal treatments.
- Characterization of surface treatments of alloys.

5.- Analysis of failures in service:
-Fractographic studies.
-Examination by scanning electron microscopy.

6.- Chemical analysis by X-ray microprobe

7.- Climatic Test:
- Corrosion Testing of Salt Spray.
-Trials of aging in House of Xenon.
-Testing of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion (ASTM A 262).

8.- Testing of Fire Protection products:
-Certification tests and monitoring of fire hydrants equipped.
-Review of the welding of fire extinguishers.

9.- Mechanical testing, chemical and metallographic on hoses, fittings and hydrants.
